LEGAL ASPECT OF NOSOCOMIAL DISEASE; PERSPECTIVE FROM INDONESIAN REGULATIONS

Abstract

. People always want to be healthy, including patients in hospitals. However, on several occasions, patients in the hospital were infected by other kinds of diseases after being hospitalized or after being treated in healthcare facilities. This kind of disease is known as nosocomial infection. This research aims to discuss the responsibility of hospitals or healthcare facilities that caused nosocomial infections in patients. The research is normative legal research, using secondary data. Data are obtained by taking literature research using a google search machine. Data are analyzed using the qualitative method. Findings and discussions proved that hospitals and healthcare facilities should be able to manage the cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital. Besides, the hospital and healthcare facilities, through their healthcare workers shall inform the patients or their relatives of the risk and possibility of getting infected after being hospitalized. Hospitals and healthcare facilities cannot hide behind the medical risk because they are responsible for nosocomial infectious diseases in their work place.
