Abstract
This paper presents a denoising method for ECG signals using Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD). The ECG is decomposed into different intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) using EMD. High frequency noise is removed from lower IMFs, while baseline wander is estimated from higher IMFs and removed. The proposed method achieved a 6 dB improvement in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
