Abstract
Infection with the hepatitis virus is a major worldwide health concern. Sexual interaction, intravenous exposure, and the passage of a sick mother to her newborn all contribute to the spread of the disease. Chronic liver disease, such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular cancer, can result from infection at a young age. There is considerable variation in the distribution of hepatitis B and C virus (HBV)(HCV) depending on factors such as population size, location, frequency, route of infection, age at infection, and the likelihood of the infection progressing to chronic liver disease. The research found that in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, 179 people who visited hospitals and the Fallujah municipal Health Department were sick with or exhibited signs of infection with hepatitis C or B virus. The study's primary objective was to detect instances of hepatitis virus and establish which individuals were more likely to contract the disease. The results showed that 141 males (78.7%) outnumbered 38 females (21.2%), and the high prevalence of hepatitis was observed in January, July in 2018, May, July in 2019, June in 2020, and January in 2021. The incidence of hepatitis B and C infection was also higher among those aged 15–34 than those aged 35–52.
