AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT TOWARDS TRANSFORMATION OF LEARNERS PERFORMANCE

Abstract
This research ascertained the extent of the implementation of the authentic assessment by teachers in teaching Mathematics to Grade VI pupils in Lagtang Elementary School, Biasong Elementary School, and Talisay City Central Elementary School during the School Year 2022 – 2023 as basis for the enhanced Math authentic assessment activities activities. The researcher made use of the descriptive-correlational method of research. The questions were derived from the study of Sutadji, Susilo, Wibawa, Jabari, & Rohmad (2021). The results showed that two-thirds of the teachers were female and the remaining three were male. They were all of the appropriate age to be teachers, about 80% of them were married, and twenty of them were sent to regional level workshops, seminars, and trainings on teaching mathematics that were relevant to their field. The students, on the other hand, were of the age group anticipated to enroll in the grade level and were split equally between the sexes. In terms of the assessment form, approach, and component, the teachers said that they Strongly Agree with using such assessments to improve their students' performance in mathematics, with cumulative means of 3.92, 3.79, and 3.83, respectively. In terms of the learners' performance, it was discovered that the bulk of them scored in the range of 7 to 9, followed by the score range of 4 to 6. 41.95% of students, on average, are having difficulty with the aforementioned competences. Due to the significant number of pupils affected, it was felt that this issue needed to be addressed. relationship between teachers’ perceived authentic assessment utilization and the level of performance of the learners in the three competencies. Thus, it is recommended that the enhancement activities for mathematics to improve learners’ performance
