UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL OF IOT IN E-HEALTH: ANALYZING THE IMPACT OF E-COMMERCE AND OTHER INFLUENTIAL FACTORS

Abstract

Patient care, operational efficiency, and healthcare outcomes are all areas that stand to benefit greatly from the introduction of IoT-powered healthcare apps and systems. By incorporating IoT into healthcare systems, data about patients’ health can be monitored and analyzed in real time, allowing doctors to immedi- ately react to any changes. The healthcare industry is rapidly using e-commerce platforms to improve the flow of patient care, medical supplies, and payments. Combining his IoT with e-commerce technologies would further boost health- care efficiency and enhance results for patients. While the Internet of Things (IoT) and online shopping (e-commerce) have great promise in the healthcare sector, widespread adoption has yet to occur. This study sought to address this challenge by conducting a thorough literature analysis on the acceptability and implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the healthcare sector, with an emphasis on the e-health sector in Saudi Arabia. The research focuses on how infrastructure and resource availability, security and privacy issues, and user acceptance all affect the rate of IoT implementation in healthcare. The possible advantages and disadvantages of using his IoT in the eHealth sector are exam- ined, as well as the importance of successful coordination between stakeholders, the creation of standards and laws, and the availability of trained personnel. The findings of this research may be used to inform the creation of policies and strategies that will increase the use of IoT devices in Saudi Arabia’s eHealth industry.
