Abstract

The study focused on the Lived Experience of Dialysis patients in the Philippine context. The study utilized the Phenomenological approach, specifically the hermeneutic phenomenological method. Moreover, the study’s informants are eight (8), long-term dialysis patients. They were selected by the researcher using the purposive sampling technique, which involves setting criteria for the selection of informants. Furthermore, to examine the data the study used the Colaizzi method. It follows a seven (7) step process that provides an accurate and robust analysis that ensures the credibility and reliability of its result. After the data analysis, the study generated six themes, namely: (1) Financial Management, (2) Assistance from Government and Non-profit Organizations, (3) attitude, (4) Social support, (5) trust in God and (6) Always abide with healthcare providers instructions. Moreover, the research provided insight into the life of long-term dialysis patients. To get through the ordeal of having a chronic illness, they must overcome numerous obstacles. A dialysis patient must adjust their financial situation, attitude, and conduct in order to survive. The study also stressed the value of family and friend support in easing the toll that the condition has on individuals. The study also discussed the influence that spirituality has on the lives of dialysis patients
