Abstract

Background: In a quest to treat chronic wounds proficiently, this experiment sought to scrutinize and medically address the wounds of 100 patients. To commence the experiment, a detailed clinical assessment was carried out on each patient; assessing wound size, location, type, infection levels and demographic data. A broad spectrum of treatment therapies such as topical agents, dressings, compression, debridement and low-level laser therapy were implemented. Consequently, the results of the study indicated substantial healing progress amongst the patients, with 84% of wounds fully recovered. Simultaneously, there was noteworthy size reduction in the wounds, infection levels and pain in the treated group. To attain proficient results, individualized treatment plans and frequent follow-up visits are essential, as emphasized in the research. The study yields that a holistic approach is crucial to the successful recovery of patients with persistent wounds. Objectives In a study of 100 patients, the treatment and assessment of chronic wounds were the main goals. Alongside this, the efficacy of different treatment methods and the elements linked to positive wound healing outcomes were also analyzed. Methods Over the course of six months from January to July 2019, the department of surgery at LRH Peshawar - conducted a comprehensive study involving 100 patients afflicted with persistent wounds. The assessments made at the initiation of the study comprised of analyzing wound size, type, location, infection status, and patient demographics. To treat the patients involved, a range of various approaches were employed that included low-level laser therapy, compression, debridement, dressings, and topical agents. Essential data collected over the course of the study included wound size, infection status, and patient-reported pain levels. Descriptive statistics, including mean, range, and median, were employed to scrutinize the findings. Results Individualized treatment regimens and consistent follow-up visits were essential to ensuring effective wound care for all patients at the study's conclusion. Significant reductions in wound size, infections, and pain levels were seen across the board, with 84% of patients seeing full wound healing. Conclusion Individualized treatment plans and regular follow-up visits are crucial for achieving optimal outcomes in chronic wound care. According to this study, a comprehensive approach can effectively heal patients. It emphasizes the significance of such an approach.
