FAMILY CONFLICT, SOCIAL SUPPORT, AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
The study focused on Family Conflict, Social Support, and Academic Performance of Junior High School Students. The study utilized the quantitative approach specifically the descriptive correlational method. The researcher determined if there is a significant relationship between Family Conflict and Social Support with students’ academic performance. Furthermore, the researchers distributed the questionnaires online using google forms to cover different high schools within Cebu City. One hundred thirty (130) respondents in this study answered the research questionnaire. All respondents were students ages 12 to 19 years old. The study revealed that most of the students are performing well in school and that family conflicts are something that they generally experience at home. Likewise, the study yielded that the students generally received social support. The study also found a significant relationship between family conflict and social support with academic performance.
