Abstract
The prenatal period is crucial for physical and emotional preparation for childbirth and parenthood, marking a significant milestone in adulthood. It provides healthcare providers, including nurses, a vital opportunity to enhance family health, as most expectant mothers seek consistent care. Pregnant women should access antenatal classes and essential information on prenatal visits, nutrition, rest, immunizations, labor, delivery preparation, newborn care, and family planning. Dr. C.S. Dawn Born August 1, 1926, significantly influenced Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) care. This study evaluated the effectiveness of an instructional teaching program on expectant fathers' knowledge and attitude regarding Dawn’s Rule of Ten. Assess pre-test and post-test knowledge and attitude regarding Dawn’s Rule of Ten. Assess the effectiveness of instructional teaching program on knowledge and attitude regarding Dawn’s Rule of ten among expectant fathers. Correlate post-test knowledge and attitude scores. Associate post-test scores with demographic variables. A quasi-experimental design was used with 145 samples selected through non-probability convenience sampling. Pre-test demographic data were collected using self-structured questionnaires, and a three-point Likert scale assessed attitudes. After the instructional program, a post-test was conducted one week later. Initially, 60.69% had moderately adequate knowledge, 35.86% had inadequate knowledge, and 3.45% had adequate knowledge. Post-intervention, 84.83% had adequate knowledge. Attitude improved from 2.8% favorable to 86.2%. The mean attitude score increased significantly (t = 52.081, p<0.001). The instructional teaching program effectively improved knowledge and attitudes regarding Dawn’s Rule of Ten
