Abstract
This literature review examines the collaborative practices among Nursing Technicians, Health Information Technicians, and Laboratory Technicians, highlighting their critical roles in enhancing patient care quality and safety. Effective interprofessional collaboration (IPC) is essential in today’s healthcare landscape, where teamwork can significantly improve patient outcomes, reduce medical errors, and streamline healthcare delivery. The review identifies key themes such as the importance of effective communication, the establishment of shared goals, and the necessity for role clarity among healthcare professionals. Furthermore, barriers to collaboration, including inadequate communication protocols and excessive workloads, are discussed, emphasizing the need for standardized practices and ongoing interprofessional training. This study underscores the integral relationship between these roles in fostering a collaborative environment that ultimately benefits patient care. Recommendations for improving collaborative practices include regular team meetings, clear role definitions, and the integration of health information technology (HIT) training. The findings suggest that healthcare organizations must prioritize collaboration to optimize patient safety and care coordination. Future research should explore the long-term impacts of interprofessional training and the practical application of collaborative frameworks to enhance healthcare delivery.
