Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology with the potential to revolutionize various industries, including healthcare and pharmacy. This paper explores the current and potential applications of AI in enhancing pharmacy practice and patient care. It provides an overview of the key concepts, techniques, and tools of AI relevant to pharmacy, and discusses the benefits, challenges, and ethical considerations associated with their implementation. The paper presents a comprehensive review of the literature on AI in pharmacy, covering areas such as medication management, clinical decision support, drug discovery and development, pharmacovigilance, and patient education and engagement. It also includes case studies showcasing real-world examples of AI-powered pharmacy interventions and their impact on patient outcomes and healthcare costs. The paper concludes with recommendations for future research and practice, emphasizing the need for collaboration between pharmacists, AI experts, and other healthcare stakeholders to fully realize the potential of AI in pharmacy while ensuring its responsible and ethical use.
