THE EHR SYSTEM IN A SAUDI ARABIAN HOSPITAL HAS FEATURES THAT SUPPORT THE CARE ROUTE

Abstract
Getting started An electronic health record (EHR) is a way for healthcare services to keep track of patient information. Authorised users can get to and use the medical information stored in EHR, which helps doctors make choices about patient care. So, the point of this study is to look at how well the two EMR systems—QuadraMed (QCPR) and BestCare—compare when it comes to the clinical standards that are built in and the supportive pathway functions. We used a test case to look at the QCPR and BestCare EHR clinical pathway usefulness in terms of their features, functions, performance, and output. The study was built on interviews and discussions, and then the system was tested in real life. The Results The test showed that the QuadraMed and BESTCare systems' supportive care pathway functions got an average score of 44.4% and 68.9%, respectively. All of the hospitals in King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMCS) will switch from QCPR to BestCare. In conclusion Adding a clinical decision support system to electronic medical records (EMRs) helped clinicians do their jobs better and raised the level of care. But more research needs to be done on BESTCare before it can be used to meet the basic needs of the supportive care route functions in King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) hospitals.
