Abstract
By looking at scientific literature, the goal of this study was to find nursing diagnoses and treatments linked to caring for patients who are at risk of getting deep vein thrombosis. The materials used in this in-depth review of the literature came from the Virtual Health Library, which is a collection of twelve health-related databases. The National Library of Medicine in the United States' PubMed portal was also used to get links from the Medline database. The process of getting information began in October 2021 with the search words "venous thrombosis"; "nursing diagnoses"; AND "venous thrombosis," which could be used alone or together using the Boolean AND operator. Articles written in English, Portuguese, and Spanish were looked at. The study chose to include in-depth articles that supported the initial theory, which said there wasn't enough research showing nursing diagnoses for patients who are likely to get deep vein thrombosis. Four out of ten nurse diagnoses (49% of the time) were for "ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion." Therefore, it was decided that more study is needed to confirm a safer approach based on scientific evidence for treating patients who are likely to develop deep vein thrombosis.
