IMPACT OF QUALITY OF WORK LIFE AMONG PRIMARY HEALTH CARE NURSES IN SAUDI ARABIA 2022

Abstract
Background Quality of work life (QWL) is defined as the extent to which an employee is satisfied with personal and working needs through participating in the workplace while achieving the goals of the organization. QWL has been found to influence the commitment and productivity of employees in health care organizations, as well as in other industries. However, reliable information on the QWL of primary health care (PHC) nurses is limited, also work‑related stress is an insidious and persistent part of everyday life related to the response of people to work environment. Nursing is a strenuous job and is prevalent among nurses. Quality of work life (QWL) has been found to influence the commitment of health professionals, including nurses. However, reliable information on QWL and turnover intention of primary health care (PHC) nurses is limited. Nurse turnover has been a major challenge for many health care organizations. Turnover of qualified nurses has consequences for health organization's as well as the profession as a whole. Nurse turnover can have a negative impact on the capacity to meet patient needs and provide quality care . Aim of the study: To assess the impact of the Quality of work life among primary health care nurses in the Saudi Arabia 2022. Method: A cross-sectional, descriptive methodology study, data were collected using Brooks’ survey of quality of nursing work life and demographic questions. A convenience sample was recruited from 200 primary health care centres in Saudi Arabia. The study was conducted at Health Care Sector in the Saudi Arabian. Total of 300 eligible participant participated in this study. Results: show the remaining socio-demographic characteristics of the participant, regarding age most of participants 30-39 were (34.0%) followed by 50-59 years were (24.0%) regarding the gender majority of participants were(61.0%) ,regarding the marital status the most of participant were (62.0%) married, regarding Payment per month the majority of participant >10000SR were (43.0%) while 5000 – 10000 SR were (32.0%) but <5000 SR were (25.0%), Conclusion . Creating and maintaining a healthy work life for PHC nurses is very important to improve their work satisfaction, reduce turnover, enhance productivity and improve nursing care outcomes. These findings can be used by PHC managers and policy makers for developing and appropriately implementing successful plans to improve the QWL. This will help to enhance the home and work environments, improve individual and organization performance and increase the commitment of nurses
